"a mellifluous revelation..."
-San Francisco Classical Voice
“And talk about a demonic-in-presence but pure-sounding baritone: Ryan Wolfe oozed smarm and menace in equal proportion, his spot-on delivery a mellifluous revelation. His sociopathic Tarquinius was goaded by the duplicitous Junius, himself berated as a cuckold.”
-San Francisco Classical Voice
“Ryan Wolfe was impressive as the Count, a commanding presence vocally and physically whenever he was onstage.”
-Cincinnati Business Inquirer
“Ryan Wolfe successfully essayed multiple roles, each benefitting from his well-tutored, polished baritone”
- Opera Today
AT A GLANCE
Arlington Heights, Illinois native Ryan Wolfe has been commended for his “commanding presence”, “spot-on delivery”, and his “well-tutored, polished baritone”. In 2025, Ryan was National Semifinalist in the Dominique and Eric Laffont Competition and a recipient of a Career Development Grant from The Sullivan Foundation. He is a two-time semifinalist of the Lotte Lenya Competition. During his two years as a Domingo-Colburn-Stein Young Artist at Los Angeles Opera, Ryan amassed over forty performances with the company from leading roles to comprimario roles including a morning-of jump in for the final dress rehearsal as the title role in El último sueño de Frida y Diego. Ryan has been seen with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, The Santa Fe Opera, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and the Richmond Symphony to name a few.
Ryan’s 2025-2026 season marks a series of company debuts: at the Dayton Opera as Morales in Carmen, at the Lyric Opera of the North as King Balthazar in Amahl and the Night Visitors, at the San Diego Opera to sing Dancaïro in Carmen and he is thrilled to join his wife, mezzo-soprano Georgia Jacobson, for a recital with The Schubert Club.
